Dealing With Childhood Obesity? This Simple Trick Can Make Children Lose Weight Fast -- And They Won't Even Notice
In 2010, more than one third of children and adolescents in the U.S. were overweight or obese. The rate is higher among African-American children; 21 percent of black children are obese compared to the national average of 16 percent. Children who are overweight can develop such diseases as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and increased risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. But this can be prevented by controlling not only what they eat but how much they eat.
This simple trick works...
A recent study indicated how children are not always the best judges of how much they should be eating. Preschoolers who were given 16-ounce bowls of cereal wanted 87 percent more in their bowls than the children who were given 8-ounce bowls of the same food. So children with a very healthy appetite can end up eating more than they should, increasing the risk of excess calories and pounds.
Researchers concluded that giving larger bowls to children causes them to want more. Researchers also concluded that the best solution to controlling calorie intake by children is simply to give them a smaller bowl.
They won't even notice
Children will not notice whether the bowl is 12 ounces or 20 ounces, but you will know as a parent that you are doing your child a favor by controlling how much food they eat. In this case, more is not better when it comes to your child's current and future health. Giving them smaller portions will be helping them to avoid cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, cancer, and osteoarthritis.
Show your child you love them by giving them less!
