Black woman shocked about Breast cancer lies

Researchers at the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) state that younger black women up to age 44 have a higher incidence of breast cancer than white women. They are also more likely to develop a more deadly form of breast cancer than white women. Don't take chances with breast cancer. Know the facts. This includes busting myths about breast cancer that are simply not true.

Don't believe these five lies/ myths about breast cancer:

#1 - "Only white women get breast cancer" - Nothing can be further from the truth, which is 1) more black women die from breast cancer than white women, and 2) breast cancer affects women of all ethnicity and ages.

#2 - "Taking birth control pills causes breast cancer" - The facts are that birth control pills contain either estrogen or progesterone or both. While progesterone protects against breast cancer, research has shown that the use of estrogen as hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women, not birth control pills, can increase the risk of breast cancer.

#3 - "Men can not get breast cancer" - Actually, men can get breast cancer, too, although it is more rare. The American Cancer Society estimates that up to 2,400 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among men in 2015.

#4 - "You can only get breast cancer if it runs in the family" - Not true! Only 5-10 percent of breast cancer is among patients who have breast cancer in their family history.

#5 - "Breast implants will increase your risk of breast cancer" - again, not true! There is no link between breast implants and breast cancer.
